Carl Smith

Cert. EMC (UEA). SR Para. Dip IMC RCS(Ed).

I have worked for the East of England Ambulance NHS Trust for ten years. I started as a Student Ambulance Technician and qualified as a State Registered Paramedic in 2003. I have completed the certificate in Higher Education in Emergency Medical Care in 1999, a Diploma in Community Health Care Practice in 2009 and I recently passed the Diploma in Immediate Care at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

As part of my career pathway I spent almost two years in the Emergency Operations Centre in Hellesdon dispatching resources to call across Norfolk Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. In 2005 I was appointed Clinical Team Leader of Hunstanton Ambulance Station and in 2008 I was appointed Duty Operations Manager in West Norfolk.

This is my current role which allows me to get heavily involved in the introduction and management of the Kings Lynn Cycle Response Unit. I am married with two sons and I am a Retained Firefighter at Kings Lynn Fire Station in my spare time.
