Marks and Spencers...

"Fundamentally 2010 realised the companies 125th year of trading and all stores took part in charity fundraising events to mark the occasion. Each store could nominate a local charity to support through various in store activites.

The team were engaged and we chose your dept for our christmas bazaar. The bazaar was supported by Head Office who provided 1000 items of stock varying from socks to cups to hats and various items of food and drink. The store then chose to sell these items to customers with a slogan of 'don't ask the price - everythings a penny'. This was derived from our initial penny bazzars that opened 125 years ago.

Customers queued from 6am to get the best buys, we restricted customers to 5 items max and requested they put a minimum of 1p in the charity bucket for each item purchased. Fortunately our customers were very generous and gave considerably more than 1p and we were able to raise a significant amount of money for our local charity."

Carl Smith Duty Operations Manager would like to say a big thank you to Craig, his staff who worked extremely hard and to all the customers who kindly donated £646.06 for the Cycle Resonse Unit.

King's Lynn Round Table...

Kings Lynn Round Table has supported the Kings Lynn Cycle Response Unit, they initially donated £200 in 2009.

On March 6th they held their annual race night in Kings Lynn. Around 100 people attended this very successful evening and the team were amazed at the generosity of the people who attended. We were delighted to have the proceeds of the evening donated towards the equipment fund of the Cycle Response Unit.

The money will be spent on equipment to ensure the best possible clinical care is delivered to the public we serve. A big thank you to the Round Table for their donation and all the effort they put into a very enjoyable evening.

Driftwood house...

Driftwood House Care of the Elderly Resendential Home is situated on the Kings Lynn Road in Hunstanton. In 2009 the proprietors of home Muriel and Roy Kent decided to hold a raffle for the Kings Lynn Cycle Response Unit and raised an amazing £500.

Members of the team who also work on ambulances have to sometimes attended Driftwood House if residents are taken unwell and over time have got to know and work well with the staff at the home. They are a friendly bunch and always oblige with a cup of tea and biscuits.

Muriel and Roy have recently held another fund raising event and have kindly donated another £221.

As a team we would like to sincerely thank Roy Muriel and all who contributed to the donation. Over the years we visit many care homes and I would like to reserve an on suite room with a garden view at Driftwood House!!

Dersingham Methodist Church...

On 20th February 2010 a group of people from the Dersingham Methodist Church organised a coffee morning to raise money for the Kings Lynn Cycle Response Unit.

Mrs Jean Griggs 'coffee morning organiser' decided to donate the money after hearing about the scheme from her son David who has also raised money for the scheme recently. Carl Smith Duty Operations Manager and Dean Richards Cycle Medic attended the Dersingham Methodist Chapel to receive the cheque for an amazing £420.09.

Carl said that he was amazed at the amount of money which had been raised from one coffee morning and thanked Mrs Griggs and all of the organisers for their hard work in raising this money. Carl gave a talk to the group and Dean showed the group the equipment carried on the bike and explained what the money raised would be spent on.
